This is the true story of SORRY

For Protokoll Gallery’s project, “Stories about Mistakes,” I made a piece with photographer Zsolt Fekete in which a sign reading SORRY was beaded on the clothes of the protagonists from the narrative. This sign ran through the whole series.
Later on I took this sign and name and used it again to name my more transgressive pieces and actions. SORRY is an anti-brand, knowing all too well the impossibility of this. SORRY for that.
Thus SORRY COOKING is a performance in which I cook food out of clothes. As a next step I spoilt various items of clothing by sticking these hideous cooked clothes on them. The GLOVES WITH FAKE NAILS have found their ancestor in Elsa Schiaparelli, who in the 30s collaborated on memorable pieces with outstanding Surrealists.
SORRY held a TAKING THE PISS workshop for women to teach them to pee standing and it operated a temporary studio for altering trousers.
The recent FETISH and PSYCHOPATHOLOGY COLLECTION calls the thing what it is.
The most classic pieces of this collection are T-SHIRTS with hand-made patterns similar to RORSCHACH test images. These can be worn by anyone and there is a wide selection of colors available.
The MULTIPLE PERSONALITY DISORDER BAGS are made for those who are up to something with a kick. Here the disorder is caused by the various proliferating handles and other important signs invading the surfaces.
The flower pattern of the OBSESSIVE COMPULSIVE DISORDER DRESSES was crossed out systematically with a pen, to make sure not a single flowerette was left uncrossed. During this painstaking job the maker’s thoughts wondered off to Róza El-Hassan and Dan Perjovschi, who were having shows at the Mucsarnok at the same time. One of them was remarkable for the use of the pen, the other for thinking about things. These correlations ended up being summarized and recorded on the dresses as follows: “G. is thinking of Perjovschi.”
The BRUTAL PLUSH pieces take issue with the aversion to plush stuffed animals on items of clothing that are quite normal, and that could even be called nice and sensuous. Unfortunately the BRUTAL PLUSHes often get misunderstood, judging by the exclamations of’How cute!’ at the remains of the brutally butchered little animals. The conclusion is that plush animals are cute even if massacred.
The KNITTED PERSEVERATIONs are built from hand-knitted children’s clothes, therefore demonstrate an extraordinary concentration of love. Those who are looking for the bliss of the unconditional love of childhood are lead back gently by wearing these pieces. One can notice how the pieces of the Fetish and Psychopathology Collection at times assume the position of the external examiner, other times that of the therapist, once in there, then out there.
The FETISH pieces aim at tracking down the elements of desire under the conditions of the psycholaboratory. The findings are sometimes made visible on the garments (fake nails, snakeskin nails, pearls and needles, armpit hair, masks). Present research focuses on mapping the fantasies and bodily sensations caused by clothes to the wearer. These results were applied in the case of the gloves with pearled palms. The pearls touch the most sensitive areas of the palm, there where one wishes to be touched. Further developments are underway regarding psycho- and body- techniques that are invisible from the outside, but will be built into the clothes, constantly reminding the wearers how miserable, how miserable their condition is.
SORRY pieces were sold earlier in Vienna and are currently available in Berlin at MERZ, some at Bolt in Budapest, Kertesz utca 42-44, or directly from me.

A SORRY igaz története

A Protokoll Galéria TÖRTÉNETEK A HIBÁRÓL című projektjére készítettem Fekete Zsolt fotóssal azt a történetet, amelyen a sorozat képeit a szereplők ruházatán különböző helyeken felbukkanó, gyönggyel hímzett SORRY jelzés fűzte össze.
Később SORRY néven futottak transzgresszív darabjaim vagy akcióim. A SORRY antibrand, bár tudatában van ezen vállalkozás lehetetlenségének. Ezért is SORRY.
SORRY FŐZÉS az a performansz, amelyben ruhákból ételeket főzök, majd ezekkel éktelenítek különböző ruhadarabokat, KESZTYŰket. SORRY MŰKÖRMÖS KESZTYŰinek elődjére Elsa Schiaparellinél bukkantunk rá, aki divattervezőként a 30-as években a szürrealisákkal közösen készített emlékezetes darabokat.
SORRY workshopot tartott nőknek állvapisilésről és ideiglenes nadrág-átalakító műhelyt működtetett TAKING THE PISS címmel.
Az újabb FÉTIS-ÉS PSZICHOPATOLÓGIA-KOLLEKCIÓ nevén nevezi a dolgot.
A kollekció legszolidabb darabjai a RORSCHACH tesztre emlekeztető mintájú, kézzel festett PÓLÓK. Ezeket bárki viselheti, ezért a választék is széles ebből.
Az MPD (Multiple Personality Disorder) TÁSKÁK már a különlegességre vágyók számára készültek. Itt a zavart a táskákon felszaporodott különböző fülek és velük szimbiózisban élő egyéb fontos jegyek okozzák, mint kimutatjuk.
A nagysikerű OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder) RUHÁK minden egyes virágmintáját tollal áthúzta a készítője, hogy biztosan írmagja se maradjon az áthúzatlan virá-gocskáknak. E fáradságos munka közepette a készítő gondolatai El-Hassan Rózára és Dan Perjovschira terelődtek, kik egyidőben állítottak ki a Műcsarnokban éppen, és egyikük a gondolkodással, másikuk a ceruzájával tűnt ki. Ezt a ruhák alján a következő feliraton rögzítjük: “G. Perjovschira gondol”.
A PLÜSS BRUTÁL darabok a plüssállatokkal szemben érzett averziót tematizálják normális, szépnek mondható, érzéki darabokon. Sajnos gyakran címűk ellenére félreértik a PLÜSS BRUTÁLokat és ‘Milyen édes!’ felkiáltással illetik a brutálisan szétvagdosott plüssállatka darabjait. A tanulság az, hogy a plüssállatka feltrancsírozva is édes.
A kézzel kötött gyerekholmikból épített KÖTÖTT PERSZEVERÁCIÓK segítségével, melyekben rendkívüli módon koncentrálódik a szeretet, a gyermekkor feltétel nélküli szeretetéhez vezetjük vissza mindazokat, akik a boldogság e formáját keresik. Megfigyelhető, hogy a FÉTIS - ÉS PSZICHOPATOLÓGIA kollekció darabjai hol külső megfigyelő-kimutató, hol terápiás szerepet öltenek, egyszer kint, máskor bent.
A FÉTIS-darabok a vágyokozókat igyekeznek kimutatni pszicholaboros módszerekkel. Ezeket olykor megmutatjuk a ruhadarabokon (műköröm, kígyóbőrköröm, gyöngy és tű, hónaljszőr, maszkok). Pillanatnyilag a kutatások a képzelet térképeinek feltárásánál és a viselőnek okozott testi érzetek vizsgálatánál tartanak. A gyöngytenyerű kesztyűnél alkalmaztuk a legújabb eredményeket. A tenyér legérzékenyebb pontjait érintik a gyöngyök, ott, ahol bárcsak érintenének. Olyan fejlesztésekre is lehet számítani, amelyeknél kívülről nem lesz látható a pszicho-és test-technika, bár ott lesz beépítve, szüntelenül boldogítva a viselőt azzal, hogy ő milyen nyomorult, nyomorult.
